A walk toward the Manteo Lighthouse always makes for a wonderful image!

Summer is a good friend of mine. Through working many hours together in a setting such as the emergency department, two things are formed, friendships or workplace aquaintances. As such, once I shot my first session with another close friend of mine who I work with, Amanda, others wanted their turn as the client. I needed a portfolio, they wanted nice family photos. Thus I found four participants to help me build my inventory. Summer is my third victim. Her and her family, 2 year old Lucy, 3 year old Jude, and husband and father Greg. Together we ventured downtown Manteo for a little family photo session.

Always be ready when photographing children! Unscripted moments like these are so precious, and also very fleeting.

So the first thing little Lucy did was come over and give me a hug. Be still my heart. How adorable can one person be?

Jude was a little more shy, which is to be expected. But in no time I was snapping away. We were blessed with a beautiful day, hardly any crowds, and some well behaved little ones. Yet even still, there are plenty of distractions for children in a downtown setting. They were amazing!!!!! Giving me plenty of opportunities for nice formal photos.

So awesome to get this shot. It was very dark where we were and i was uncertain if I had captured them all looking. Low and behold, winner winner chicken dinner

After walking around the town we set ourselves down in the park for some awesome bubble time! Summer has the best bubble wand ever. I was hesitant at first, preferring a bubble gun or machine, something to produce massive amounts of bubbles. But it all worked out fine.

Lucy was the bubble chaser. She loved to watch them soar past her and up to the sky.

Jude was very content to watch the bubble blow away while being with his Mom

Now we're talking! Candy time. Any day with a lollipop as big as your head is a good day!

It was such a wonderful photo session. And when it was all done we all went out to dinner! A great way to spend an evening. I am so thankful for Summer and Greg allowing to me photograph their wonderful family. I am truly humbled to be a part of their lives and to be able to share these moments with them.
